Di Lusso Italian-Style Calzone

Ingredients:

  • 1 (10-ounce) can refrigerated pizza crust dough
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 12 slices DI LUSSO® Deli Meats and Cheese, pepperoni
  • 12 slices DI LUSSO® Genoa Salami
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/3 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded pizza cheese blend
  • Olive oil

Procedure:

  1. Heat oven to 400°F. Lightly brush 12-inch round pizza pan with oil.
  2. Unroll dough onto pizza pan; press dough into pan. Spread pizza sauce over dough to within 1/2 inch of edge. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup cheese. Layer 6 slices each pepperoni and salami and 1/2 each of onion and bell pepper over half of dough. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup cheese. Repeat layers.
  3. Fold dough over filling; press edges to seal by twisting dough to form rope pattern or by sealing edges with fork. Cut 3 small slits on top of dough. Bake 15 to 18 minutes or until lightly browned and filling is hot.
  4. Lightly brush top of calzone with small amount of olive oil and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired. Cut into wedges to serve. Serve with additional pizza sauce and grated Parmesan cheese for dipping, if desired.
