Genoa Puffs in Mustard Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup DI LUSSO® Genoa Salami, diced
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup seasoned dry breadcrumbs plus additional for coating
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped green onions
  • 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons Di Lusso® Dijon Mustard
  • Vegetable oil

Procedure:

  1. In bowl, combine salami, egg, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, the mayonnaise, onions, cheese and hot sauce; mix well. Divide mixture evenly into 24 portions; shape into balls.
  2. Pour remaining breadcrumbs into shallow dish. Coat each salami puff with breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat 2 inches of oil to 350°F. Deep-fry 2 or 3 puffs at a time 1 to 2 minutes or until golden brown; drain. Keep warm. Repeat with remaining puffs.
  4. To make dipping sauce, in bowl, combine sour cream and mustard; mix well. Serve warm puffs with dipping sauce.
