Ingredients:

  • 8 (6x4-inch) slices sourdough bread, divided
  • 1/2 pound DI LUSSO® Deli Meats and Cheese, double smoked ham, sliced
  • 8 slices DI LUSSO® Deli Meats and Cheese, Colby Jack cheese
  • 2 large eggs, beaten or 1/2 cup egg substitute
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg, if desired
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • DI LUSSO® Honey Mustard

Procedure:

  1. Spread one side of 4 slices bread with mustard.
  2. Top remaining 4 slices bread with ham. Top evenly with cheese. Top each sandwich with bread, mustard-side-down; press lightly.
  3. In shallow dish or pie plate, combine eggs, milk and nutmeg; mix well.
  4. In large nonstick skillet or on griddle, melt butter over medium heat.
  5. Dip each sandwich in egg mixture, turning to coat; let excess egg mixture drip back into dish. Place sandwiches in skillet. Cook, turning once, 8 minutes or until cheese is melted and sandwiches are golden brown.
  6. Serve sandwiches with jam or preserves, if desired.
